I cannot guarantee that my journal title is 100% accurate.
Anyway, it's 1 o'clock in the morning and I randomly decided to make a journal entry.
I can't think of anything worthwhile to say here.
I don't do too much 3d stuff anymore, which..I think is sad. I kinda just ditched my dream, and got lazy. I'm waiting for that one opportunity where I'm needed, or one moment where I get super inspired to just sit and model something.
That has not happened in a long time.
My problem with 3d modeling is this: I love doing it. People say that I'm good at it. But I cannot bring myself to model something, just for the hell of it. Too much work goes into it for it to just sit there, unused. If I had a job doing this, or if I was part of some project I was genuinely interested in, I would happily model 24/7. But this is never the case. None of my project ideas ever actually come to fruition. They're always just ideas. And when I do have a great idea for something, it's always lost because of lack of willpower, knowledge, or(in most cases), support from friends.
Projects that I was interested in, that fell of the face of the Earth within a couple months of people actively being interested in it:
-A Halo movie project between a friend an I, done in 3D. Cancelled because there is no way the two of us could actually pull any heavy work off with just me and him.
-Kingdom Hearts themed Halo Custom Edition maps, complete with Keyblade weapons, KH character models, and custom animations. Did a good amount of 3d work for that.
Some things from that KH Halo project:

Nothing amazing, I know, but it was still progress. But alas, cancelled because Halo CE sucked hard for melee combat. Also lack of knowledge of Halo CE engine. I had recruited one person that could put content into the game, as well as do some decent maps.
-KH GMOD Project that I started because I didn't want to put all the work I did on KH weapons and stuff to waste.

That was as far as that got. I imported 2 keyblades into Gmod...and then nothing else. Ditched the project because I stopped playing Gmod for a long period of time, and had no interest in finishing the project.
-After that Gmod project, there was a kinda sorta serious project that started up:
A remake of American McGee's Alice using the Source Engine. I wanted to join this project sooo bad, but I was afraid that it wouldn't catch on.
I was right. There were..two artists that were part of it. They got models and textures done on a few things. Looked really nice...and then the project just died completely.
-Steampunk mod for Team Fortress 2. This didn't get that far, really. I modeled 3 things(two of which I will show here):

This got as far as that, and a colored version of my sniper rifle model, done in PS by my girlfriend. [link]
- A Tron "skin" mod for CS:S

This was done shortly after seeing Tron Legacy. This one is simple enough that I might go back to it if I end up playing CS:S again...
-And finally, the most recent "project" that I started, and abandoned after a few days for reasons unknown:
The Gentlemanly Escort Cube

I wanted to follow through with this one, but...now I have lost interest in it once again. If only for the fact that I cannot texture, or UV well.
Then of course there's a dozen other projects that were all talk, planning, and installation of modding tools, looking into tutorials for various things, and ditching the ideas altogether within 3 days.
I need a good idea, a good group of people, and a good amount of motivation to complete something.
If I had an actual group to start a project with, that was completely dedicated to actually accomplishing something....it would be an amazingly great start to getting me back into doing things I once loved.
